Hi Guys! According to the poll, most of you wanted to see more product reviews on my blog, so here they come! I'm planning on doing at least ONE product review everyday, You better prepare yourself!! LOL!
First of all, I want to introduce you guys to my tried and true skincare routine. I fucked my skin up BIG time at the beginning of this semester (end of August, as you probably can tell from my TKB Trading FOTD post), so since then I've been seriously dedicating my time to care for my skin. Here's what I use daily:
Pretty simple huh? I used to use SO MANY skincare products, but I realized that the more I use, the more delicate my skin becomes, and not in a good way. So now I choose products that are more on the natural side, more Wild Oats and Trader Joe then Department store if you know what I mean.
In the morning:
--I wash my face w/ cold water, b/c I have dry skin, the last thing I want to do is to over-wash my face. I use COLD water b/c it tightens up my skin and it give a flush of color.
--I use Merlont Grapeseed Day Cream SPF15. I LOVE THIS PRODUCT! I know Nessa did a thorough review on this product, but I still want to sing its praise!
In the evening:
--I wash my face in the shower with Dr. Bronner's Magic Liquid Castille Soap. It really IS magical!
--After I come out of the shower, I use a TINY bit of AHA lotion all over my face and neck to speed up cell turnover. It's great for brightening up your skin and face acne scars.
--After the AHA dries up, I use Merlong Moonlight Radiance Night Cream (the one in the blue bottle. My mom shared the bottle with me, and my share, I mean she took half the jar while I was in shower....Sneaky sneaky!).
--Around twice a week, I use Skin Appetit Nutri-pro Night Serum. It's very natural and very moiturizing.
Now to the more thorough review:
Dr. Bronner's Magic Soap in Eucalyptus
Where to buy: Target, CVS, Trader Joes, Wild Oats, internet.
Cost: $9.5 for a 16 oz, cheaper if you buy it online
What it claims: Unlike any you’ve ever used. A combination of organic extra virgin coconut, olive, jojoba and hemp oils, together with pure essential oils, creates a unique soap that cleans effectively without being aggressive and produces a velvety-lather that leaves the skin silky-smooth and refreshed. Eucalyptus opens up your pores and while clears up your sinuses while enveloping the body in its warm invigorating vapors. All oils and essential oils are certified organic to the National Organic Standards Program. Packaged in the 100% post consumer recycled plastic bottle.
Pro: It can be used in 18 different ways! It can be used as body wash, face wash, detergents, toothpaste, dish washing liquid, bath oil, shampoo, shaving cream...etc. So far I've used it for toothpaste, body wash, and face wash. It cleanses REALLY well. It's interesting how it goes on very liquidy, but once it goes on the skin, all the oil and dirt just competley disappear! It's so cool! It has not irritated my very sensitive and dry skin. The Eucalyptus smell is wonderful too! It's so refreshing! I saw a reduction in breakouts after using this product for about 3 weeks. Also, it's very inexpensive and you get a lot of bang for your buck.
Con: It's very concentrated, so you have to dilute with water. Some people might think that's an extra step in the process. If you accidentally get some on your hands, after the Eucalyptus smell fades away and you don't wash it off, it will start smelling kinda wierd (maybe the Castille smell?). Also, I know that Dr. Bronner is known for staring this religion thing that's called "All For One", but do they REALLY need to put all those random sayings on the bottle? It's almost cult-like! Last but not least, it might be a TINY bit too drying for people with desert dry skin.
That's it you guys! I will make a review for Merlot Moonlight Radiance Night cream (everyone should get this!) tomorrow! Good night!
