Collective haul + review, anyone?

Hi guys! This is going to be a HUGE compensating post. I know I've been failing as a BEAUTY blogger, so I'm gonna make it up with this haul/review post!

I've been feeling a little down recently (maybe it's the cold weather?), and what could make me feel better than makeup?! However, with our economy going down the crapper, it's crucial that we don't overspend....THAT much. LOL! I was never the one that spend money on high end makeup, which is why you don't know many NARS, La Mer, Clarins, MUFE, etc. in my collection. Of course, when you go on a makeup binge, you don't know high end anyway, so where did I go? WALGREENS and INTERNET!! WOOO!!!!

Here's what I got from online:
MERLOT Skincare

I got 5 Merlot hydrating toner. Ever since I began using GOW products, I've been using toner/hydrators like crazy. I don't want to spend moolah on very expensive ones, so I went to the drugstore. However, most drugstore toners, although inexpensive, don't give you that much in volumn (weight), so I went online. I've been infatuated with Merlot skincare for a very long time now (go back in posts to see my review on their daycream/nightcream), so I went online. I found Merlot has a hydrating toner for $12 for 8oz, which is more than 2x of a MAC Fix+, and it claims to be alcohol free (which later I found out that they contain some alcohol, but not a lot). Since I hate to pay for shipping, I just ordered enough (5 bottles) to quality for free shipping (on orders over $50) for $60. I've been using it for a week now, and I REALLY like it!! I put some in the MAC Fix+ bottle so I can spray whenever I feel like. The scent's so refreshing and invigorating, and it doesn't dry out my skin while cleanse off all the gunk. The only thing I'm kinda iffy about is that it's purple...so it kinda makes your skin a little pink right after you used it, but it fades fairly quickly.

Coastal Scents:
The 10 color blush palette:

The contour/blush/highlight palette:

I think they are ALRIGHT. The texture is a little on the chalky side, but the colors are pretty pigmented. The HUGE pro is the price you are paying for the amount you are getting, MAJOR bang for your buck. However, if you are considering getting the contour palette, beware that the highlight colors will be pretty much useless. I'm pretty fair (IMO) already, and they still manage to look ashy on me....WTH?! LOL! Still, the contour/blush colors are pretty.

Here's what I got from Walgreens: If they are in pairs, they are either BOGOF or BOGO50%off, LOL! I'm a cheapo! I'm DAMN proud too!!

Rimmel Sexy Curves mascara

I love how groovy the brush looks!! However, although it does a great job at lengthening, it just fails at its original purpose: CURLING! It weighs down my lashes like nobody's business...:( poopy....I really like the lengthening property too!!!

Rimmel Renew&Lift foundation in 103 True ivory

I'm REALLY liking this!!! It covers really well, and it looks so natural! It contains Vitamin C+E, and some anti-aging stuff that claims to give you younger looking skin in 14 days (I don't believe it, but what do I know?). I use MAC 187 to apply this and it makes my skin look so good! I've been wearing this in my recent Youtube vids, and I've been getting compliments on how my skin looks in real life too (although that's not hard after how horrendous my skin looked during the purging phase)!

Rimmel Vinyl Stars l/g in punk princess and Shock Gloss in Amp'ed

To be honest, I've NEVER tried Rimmel's l/g. Sure, I have a bagillion of their l/s, but not l/g. So I took the advantage of BOGOF to try out 2 l/s. I haven't really tried the vinyl stars yet, but it's basically a clear gloss with gold microglitters in it. I think it will look RAD on top of red l/s (yes, I just said RAD!!) LOL! I HAVE tried the Shock Gloss though. It's a very juicy pink gloss. By juicy I mean it's see through (like those lancome JT ads in the magazine). It's great to fake a sweet inncent look since the color comes out kinda sheer and NOT red as it appears in the tube. However, I really dislike the plastic applicator it comes with, it's difficult to apply the color evenly and it drips the gloss everywhere. I use my own lip brush to apply it now. I like it better this way.

Revlon Age Defying finishing powder in Translucent medium and translucent dark. Also Super Lustrous Shiny Sheers in Sheer Cherry Pop and Sheer Peachy Sheen.

I didn't open the l/s yet, so I can't really review those. However, they do look like possible MAC Slimshine dupes. However, the powder? The powder I LOVE!!! They are like the MAC Blot powders in the sense that even though it says "DARK", it's still light as crap. I use a big fluffy brush like MAC 150 or 134 to apply, and the finish is light and luminous. I don't know if you can tell from the pics, but there's some slight shimmer to the powder. I think I don't be freaking out that my MAC Yogamode beauty powder is running out.

L'oreal HIP shadow stick (L-R) Alluring, Exquiste, Majestic, and Dazzling.

I haven't tried them yet, will update with a review once I do. However, from the packaging, they are like crayons that show up on skin. They got pretty low ratings on MUA though, so I'm kinda scared....

Jane mascaras in Fan Club and Hi-Fiber

I bought them purely for reminising. They are about the 1st mascaras I've ever tried (at 14). I forgot about the qualities of them, so I can't wait to use them again!! They were marked down to $2.19 each, then BOGOF!! Crazy, ain't it?

Yes to Carrots skincare: Yes to Tomatoes/Yes to cucumbers facial hydrating lotion

I've been using Yes to Carrots line (mainly haircare and body butters) for a long time now and have been truly enjoying their products. They are all natural, paraben free, petraleum free, and do not test on animals (HUUGE +). I was SO psyched when they came out with more "vegies"! LOL! I've using the Yes to Cucumber one recently, and it is rocking my socks! It smells amazing (like gardenia), and the ingredient list is pretty amazing. It has loads of good stuff in it. Take a look:

Although it contains alcohol (boo), it is really gentle and soothing on the skin, and when I wake up in the morning, my face is glowing! I really recommend this to everyone!

Jergen Natural body lotion in Renew and Hydrate

I've fallen in love with Jergen Natural line ever since I tested them 3 months ago at Walmart. The Renew one has grapeseed, blueberry, and pomegranate in it, so it smells absolutely fantastic. The Hydrate one has jojoba oil, agave, and cactus extracts in it. The skin on my body is all cherring right now b/c they've waited long enough for these babies!!

Dudes and dudettes, I'm completely pooped out right now. Gotta go to sleep....4 finals next week...Someone shoot me and put me out of misery...pretty please?! LOL! That's it y'all, G'night!

Wow! You are mighty talented! I never manage to be satisfied with drugstore hauls! Yes to Carrots and Yes to Cucumbers looks great! Reminds me a bit of lines you find at Whole Foods like Suki.

Can't wait to see the rest of your reviews!

P.S. I like your nail color! From your recent China Glaze haul I assume? =P

what a haul! good like with finals, hope all your studying goes well!

that's a LOT of Merlot toner, haha :) After the holidays I want to try out more of their products, since their day/night moisturizers are so great.

the HIP shadow sticks are ok...i have one of those brown ones and a green one. They drag a bit on the lid if you use them dry, but if you apply them wet, the color shows up better and it's not as harsh on the lids. They make for a simple liner/pop of color when you don't really feel like putting on lots of eye makeup...maybe even work as a base depending on the shade.
