Drugstore Haul Part 2 + Before/After pics!

Hi guys! Thank you all SOOOO much for participating in the blog sale! For those of you who already paid, all the packages are on their way to you. Please allow 3-5 days for domestic orders and 1-2 weeks for international ones to arrive.

Today I'm going to conclude my collective haul! Then the next post will be about my Pan Porn and Project Low Buy.

Target Haul:

I recently went to Target just to browse <--BAD BAD BAD idea. I came home with 3 ELF beautybooks and a set of Sonia Kashuk brushes. I don't regret these purchases though, they are freaking AMAZING. As you can tell, the beautybooks are only $5 each, and I got all 3 of the eye sets (Brights, Neutrals, and Smokey). There were also lips sets but I HATE lip products in palette form. Details reviews/swatches coming up soon. The Sonia Kashuk brushes were $14.99 which was an amazing deal consider the flat top brush in the kit retails for $14.99 alone.

Nordie's Anniversary Sale:

Since I work @ Nordstrom, I get employee discount on everything sold there. I've been wanting to try Philosophy Purity Made Simple and Microdelivery Exfoliating wash for a really long time now, ever since I saw it on QVC. After seeing it on sale for the Super Size and realizing that I could use my employee discount for the 1st time, I JUMPED at the chance and haven't looked back. They are so gentle and so effective! I will post more later.

Costco Haul

I was bored of my Tresseme shampoo, so I got the 32oz Dove Damage Therapy in White Nectar and Ginger scent one. It came with a gift with purchase 12oz conditioner in the same scent. I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE this scent!! It's so refreshing and energizing! This duo make my hair so clean and light! The best part? With a Costco $2 off coupon, I got this duo for $4.99!! YAY for Costco!

QVC Haul

I got this HUMONGOUS 4oz Laura Geller Spackle primer after seeing it on QVC. I think Laura Geller has been pulled from Sephora, so nowadays you can only get it from QVC or Ulta. The regular 2oz one costs $25, the HUGE 4oz one is only $29. That's that a deal and a half!! While I really like this primer, I don't think it's quite suitable for ppl with oily skin. The Spackle gives your skin that "glow" and moisturizes it really well. However, it doesn't really control the excessive oil throughout the day. I think it'd be more suitable for the colder months when the skin needs more moisture.

Walmart Haul

Last but definitely NOT least, a Walmart haul. Tell me you didn't see THAT one coming, LOL! Since Walmart is my BFF (and all the ppl who complain about how it exploits its workers can go choke on an eyeliner) and it's literally right across the street from Nordies, I stop by there almost everything either before or after work <--another really BAD idea. This time I picked up Hemp Golden Glow gradual tanner ($5.99 for 25 oz) and Banana Boat Summer Color (another self-tanner) in Dark ($7 (?) for 6oz). I know I've been an avid supporter of the paleness, but I have the NASTIEST farmer's tan (AKA t-shirt tan) right now. Now the uneven tan line wouldn't bother me under normal (daily) circumstances since all I wear are tshirts and jeans, but now since I have to be all "trendy" for work, the mosaic of colors on my body just won't work.

I also picked up Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse and Dream Smooth Mousse foundations, both in Nude (Yes, I'm on a foundation kick, and while I LOVE MAC F&B and Full Coverage (which I need to stock up one I get my staff card ASAP @ MAC PRO), most MAC foundations break me out). They were $7.99 each but I had 2 $2 off Maybelline foundations coupon so it wasn't bad. I kept waiting for Maybelline to go on BOGOF sale, but it just didn't happen. I know I made a vid about how much I hated the Dream Liquid mousse, but I heard someone that that Maybelline reformulated it, so I decided to give it another go. Everyone deserves a 2nd chance right? :P I've been using the Dream Smooth Mousse and filmed a review for it, which I will post one of these days, so stay tuned!

Thank you so much for reading this long post! I know I don't say this often, but I really appreciate all of your support. I hope my posts bring a little joy to your day and a little smile to your face. :)

Love always,

P.S. My baby is always next to me doing this when I make blog posts. To the (your) right of the book shelf is my computer desk.

P.P.S. This is why I LOVE makeup. It is magic. Oh, and yes, after years of schooling, doing makeup (my waste-of-time hobby) got me a job.

Drugstore Haul Part 1!

Hello everyone! How are you doing on this wonderful Thursday morning?

Nathan and I planned to do an early morning hike at 6am. Well....that was before we realized that we were night-owls and NOT early birds <---Should've known that a LONG time ago. Despite many attempts to get up at around 5am-ish, we woke up at 8:30am. By then it was way too sunny to be hiking. Yes, Nathan hates the sun as much as I do, especially when he lost his sunglasses. We need to get him a new pair STAT!

Now I'm awake at 8:30 on my day off and wired on too much caffeine, I decided to post a blog post showing you some of the drugstore items I've gotten recently. This is to keep me in check from buying too much. I'm on a makeup low-buy til MAC comes out with Venomous Villains Collection <--this is supposed to be a big secret, but everyone and their mommas know about it. I will elaborate on the low-buy in the next blog post.

Here's the majority of products I got at Rite Aid.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE the NYC Blendable Creme Blush sticks. They are dirt-cheap ($3-4.99 for 8g of products) and super pigmented. I got all of them except for the scary dark ones that I KNOW won't work on my skin.

If my memory didn't fail me, what I got were (from L-R) South St. Seashell, Wild Berry (LE), Plaza Pink, Big Apple Blush, and Berry New Yorker. I also have Pink Flash which is LE and not included in the pic. Then I have Maybelline Collosal Diamond mascara (which SUCKS btw, makes me look like I have dandruff on my lashes), NYC gloss in Red Hot, and lastly we have Revlon matte e/s in Peach Sorbet.

Next we have a haul from Walmart before work:
We have Physicians Formula Healthy Wear SPF50 Tinted moisturizer in Fair-light, which is the second lightest color from the line. Unforunately it was too dark and turned PINK on me. It was a shame too cuz I got the only bonus pack with TWO products in it. I was sad to return it, but it was like $14.95. I'm not paying that for something I'm not gonna use.

Then we have NYC Color Wheel Mosaic Face Powder in Peach Glow, AKA the best $4 I've spent. It looks EXACTLY like Benefit Georgia boxed blushed on me except more pigmented, with more product, and cheaper! We also have Aquaphor Healing Ointment. I got the one for babies just b/c it's the same product but cheaper than the regular ones. Last but not least we have Halls cough drops in Tropical flavor. I need it to sooth my throat from talking to customers all day long. Besides it's yummy and NOT cough-medicine-y at all.

That's it for my drugstore haul part 1! I gotta go take pics of some more stuff I got from Target. After that I'm going on a low buy. :(

Thanks for reading guys! More posts/vids coming up!

Have a wonderful day!

Quick Haul and FOTD!

Hi guys! Sorry for the sporadic posts. I meant to post more during my days off, caught up with me. LOL!

One good thing about working at a makeup company is that you can see all the collections first and get them before the general public can. Also, you establish connections with the MAC stores/other counters so you can track down products more easily. I know, I'm being hated on right now, but yeah. How does that phrase go? Don't hate the player, hate the game? LOL! JK JK.

Our counter only got 3 Stereo Rose MSFs for In the Groove launch. Fortunately I got the last one. I had to pay full price though because I have yet to apply for my MAC Staff card.

So for the haul, I got MAC Stereo Rose and By Candlelight MSFs.

I got Stereo Rose because the texture and color is a lot different from the original Stereo Rose. It's a lot smoother and less glittery. I got By Candlelight because I'm a highlighter hoor. It's also buttery soft and goes on like a glowy goodness instead of chunky glitters. A lot of ppl think that By Candlelight is the same as Soft & Gentle MSF, but in my opinion, By Candlelight is 1000x better! It's smoother and pinker. I can see it working as a blush for me as well in winter.

With flash:

Without flash:

Now the simple FOTD featuring Stereo Rose and By Candlelight.
What I used:

--Milani Glow Naturals foundation in Fair to Light
--Coverblend concealer in Light under my eyes
--Ben Nye poudre visage in Banana

--Ben Nye contour 1 to contour
--MAC Stereo Rose MSF on apples
--MAC By Candlelight MSF to highlight <--must track down another one. This is HG material.

--MAC Soft Ochre paintpot
--MAC wedge e/s on lid
--MAC Vanilla pigment on browbone
--Stila smudgepot in black
--MAC Sumptuous Olive e/s on bottom eye
--Maybelline The Falsies mascara
--MAC Fluidline in Dipdown on brow <--Gel liner on brows is my new fave way to do my brows.

--nothing. I later put on MAC Tinted lip conditioner in Petting pink.

Close ups:

See that glow? OMG I LOVE THESE MSFS!!

That's it guys! I have to go to work in T-4 hours. I have so many errands to run. Me no likey. :(

Have a wonderful day!

Purple for Grapes FOTD!

Hi guys! I'm sorry I left you all hanging for a while. I've been working non-stop for the past week! I really enjoy working at MAC. The people at my counter are so friendly and laid-back. The whole experience is so different from when I freelanced for MAC at Macy's in Gainesville. I will do a more in-depth post about my interview/experience at both MAC counters for those of you who are interested.

Today I'm posting a FOTD (OMG Shock Horror!! FOR REALZ?!) that I wore to the counter. It's kinda different from what I usually do. It's a lot smokier and the liner isn't as thick. I wanted to wear purple b/c I'm really obsessed with purples lately.

Overall look:

What I used:
--Rimmel Fix & Perfect foundation primer
--MAC F&B foundation in C30
--Cinema Secret profession cream foundation in 302 on cheeks to conceal pimples
--Coverblend concealer in Light on dark circles
--Ben Nye poudre visage in Banana

--MAC Refined Golden bronzer
--Ben Nye Contour 1
--MAC Stray Rose blush
--MAC Soft & Gentle MSF to highlight

--MAC Parfait Amour e/s all over lid
--MAC Grape pigment in the crease
--MAC Shady Lady in outer v/bottom liner
--Stila Chinois e/s to highlight
--Stila kajal liner in Tiger eyes
--random falsies UNDER the real lashes
