Hi guys! Thank you all SOOOO much for participating in the blog sale! For those of you who already paid, all the packages are on their way to you. Please allow 3-5 days for domestic orders and 1-2 weeks for international ones to arrive.
Today I'm going to conclude my collective haul! Then the next post will be about my Pan Porn and Project Low Buy.
I recently went to Target just to browse <--BAD BAD BAD idea. I came home with 3 ELF beautybooks and a set of Sonia Kashuk brushes. I don't regret these purchases though, they are freaking AMAZING. As you can tell, the beautybooks are only $5 each, and I got all 3 of the eye sets (Brights, Neutrals, and Smokey). There were also lips sets but I HATE lip products in palette form. Details reviews/swatches coming up soon. The Sonia Kashuk brushes were $14.99 which was an amazing deal consider the flat top brush in the kit retails for $14.99 alone.
Nordie's Anniversary Sale:
Since I work @ Nordstrom, I get employee discount on everything sold there. I've been wanting to try Philosophy Purity Made Simple and Microdelivery Exfoliating wash for a really long time now, ever since I saw it on QVC. After seeing it on sale for the Super Size and realizing that I could use my employee discount for the 1st time, I JUMPED at the chance and haven't looked back. They are so gentle and so effective! I will post more later.
I was bored of my Tresseme shampoo, so I got the 32oz Dove Damage Therapy in White Nectar and Ginger scent one. It came with a gift with purchase 12oz conditioner in the same scent. I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE this scent!! It's so refreshing and energizing! This duo make my hair so clean and light! The best part? With a Costco $2 off coupon, I got this duo for $4.99!! YAY for Costco!
I got this HUMONGOUS 4oz Laura Geller Spackle primer after seeing it on QVC. I think Laura Geller has been pulled from Sephora, so nowadays you can only get it from QVC or Ulta. The regular 2oz one costs $25, the HUGE 4oz one is only $29. That's that a deal and a half!! While I really like this primer, I don't think it's quite suitable for ppl with oily skin. The Spackle gives your skin that "glow" and moisturizes it really well. However, it doesn't really control the excessive oil throughout the day. I think it'd be more suitable for the colder months when the skin needs more moisture.
Last but definitely NOT least, a Walmart haul. Tell me you didn't see THAT one coming, LOL! Since Walmart is my BFF (and all the ppl who complain about how it exploits its workers can go choke on an eyeliner) and it's literally right across the street from Nordies, I stop by there almost everything either before or after work <--another really BAD idea. This time I picked up Hemp Golden Glow gradual tanner ($5.99 for 25 oz) and Banana Boat Summer Color (another self-tanner) in Dark ($7 (?) for 6oz). I know I've been an avid supporter of the paleness, but I have the NASTIEST farmer's tan (AKA t-shirt tan) right now. Now the uneven tan line wouldn't bother me under normal (daily) circumstances since all I wear are tshirts and jeans, but now since I have to be all "trendy" for work, the mosaic of colors on my body just won't work.
I also picked up Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse and Dream Smooth Mousse foundations, both in Nude (Yes, I'm on a foundation kick, and while I LOVE MAC F&B and Full Coverage (which I need to stock up one I get my staff card ASAP @ MAC PRO), most MAC foundations break me out). They were $7.99 each but I had 2 $2 off Maybelline foundations coupon so it wasn't bad. I kept waiting for Maybelline to go on BOGOF sale, but it just didn't happen. I know I made a vid about how much I hated the Dream Liquid mousse, but I heard someone that that Maybelline reformulated it, so I decided to give it another go. Everyone deserves a 2nd chance right? :P I've been using the Dream Smooth Mousse and filmed a review for it, which I will post one of these days, so stay tuned!
Thank you so much for reading this long post! I know I don't say this often, but I really appreciate all of your support. I hope my posts bring a little joy to your day and a little smile to your face. :)
P.S. My baby is always next to me doing this when I make blog posts. To the (your) right of the book shelf is my computer desk.
P.P.S. This is why I LOVE makeup. It is magic. Oh, and yes, after years of schooling, doing makeup (my waste-of-time hobby) got me a job.
