Rite Aid Haul

...This is also the trip that made me realize that I'm an addict (yeah right, as if we didn't know that sooner).

Here's what I got:
--Soft Lips in Peppermint, Chai Tea, and Acai Berry
--Revlon Super Lustrous l/s in Coral Berry and Prim-rose
--Revlon Matte l/s in Sky Pink, Stormy Pink, and Smoked Peach

All the Revlon lip products are from the newest something Suede collection (sorry I forgot the whole name). I'm pretty sure they are limited edition, but don't quote me on that.

More pics!

L-R: Stormy Pink, Sky Pink, and Smoked Peach.

L-R: Coral Berry and Prim-Rose

Now....NOBODY should do this......

L-R: Sky Pink, Prim-Rose, and Pink Pout

Granted, the colors vary slightly in real life, but honestly, once they hit your lips, no one's gonna know the difference.

This is why I fail. :(

Anyways, swatches!

L-R: Coral Berry and Prim-Rose

L-R: Stormy Pink, Smoked Peach, and Sky Pink

I will do a collective review on Revlon Matte lipsticks (like the one for Colorburst), so stay tuned for that one.

On a side note, Soft Lips Pure lip balm! Here's their claim:

Honestly though, I'm quite disappointed with them. I've tried the Chai Tea one, smells like those Chinese watermelon seeds.... Instead of Chai it smells sauce. Can we get a collective EWWWWWWWWWWWWW on that?

Personally, I've never been a fan of Soft Lips lip balms because the texture of them is so thin. I feel that they actually DRY OUT my lips instead of moisturize them. I don't know... Maybe it's just me since I know there's a HUUUUGE following of them out there.

Anyways, thanks for reading. Stay tuned for more posts!

P.S. Don't forget to watch The Daily Show today (10/27/10) cuz Obama will be on!!

P.P.S. I also have Sephora F&F package to be delivered today. :)

P.P.P.S. This is why I'm happy.
They are the truest forms of Frenemies.

This is why I'll NEVER open a restaurant of any kind.

Simple task: Cutting asparagus.

The result? My near-death experience. This was my 3rd paper towel btw.

It doesn't help that Nathan FREAKS at any sight of blood and was VERY heavily invested in his round of Halo Reach combat.

Band-Aids just weren't cutting it. We gave up after the 5th Band-Aid failed miserably at stopping the blood flow. After rinsing it w/ hydrogen peroxide for 5 mins and me crying bloody murder the entire time....

I need props for coming up w/ blogging material when I was in SEVERE pain. A whole flap of skin just LIFTED and I was my meat and everything....*shudders* I had to do SOMETHING to take my mind off of this and quite frankly, sexing wasn't an option at that time. LOL.

However, the silver lining of this incident is that I didn't have to cook/do dishes for the past week or so. All I have to do is lift my bandaged index finger and food will be delivered. :)

Anyways, a little preview of post coming up:

Thanks for reading and sorry for grossing you out!

P.S. Anyone shopping the Sephora FF sale? 20% off your entire order! Use code FF2010.

P.P.S. If Nathan makes me ONE MORE RAMEN, I'll hit someone.

A rather pointless swatch post...

of a few highlighters I got recently.

I've been swapping on MUA as well as visiting Sally's on a semi-regular basis. I gotta say, those places hold true treasures that won't break your bank.

Here are my new acquisitions.

Terra Del Sol in #7 AKA MAC Pleasureflush MSF dupe. (MUA swap)

Femme Coutour Baked Highlighter (Sally's)

Femme Coutour Baked Bronzer in Summer Kiss AKA MAC Shimpagne dupe (Sally's)

Terra Del Sol is a rather cool toned highlighter. It reminds me of a very light, less pigmented version of Pink Opal pigment by MAC. The result of it is almost ethereal. This will DEFINITELY look ashy on ppl with darker skintones. I kinda have to pack it on to see some kind of noticeable result. I got this off of MUA, so I don't know where you can purchase this in the states.

Femme Coutour Baked Highlighter is even more subtle than Terre Del Sol. On me the highlighting effect is so light it almost feel like the MAC Mystery Powder. I could use this all over my face for that "glow from within" feel. You get 10 grams for $9.99, not too shabby.

Femme Coutour Baked Bronzer in Summer Kiss in definitely my fave out of the three. It reminds me A LOT of the MAC Shimpagne MSF. They both have the golden-beige tone to it that can warm up my face. Shimpagne is SLIGHTLY darker though. I wouldn't recommend this as a bronzer though. It is way too shimmery and light for that. Again, it's $10, which is a lot better than MAC's $28.

Anyways, I know this is rather lame since you can barely see the swatches at all....but isn't that kind of the point of highlighters? To make your face glow without screaming "HEY I'M WEARING MAKEUP!!".

Overall I'm very happy with the recent purchases. I can see that they'll be put to good use in the future.

I'm off to work now. Thanks for reading guys. Have a great weekend!

Review: Age Sciences Personal Microderm Kit

Hi guys! How are you all doing?

I'm typing with a broken finger at the moment.... isn't my forte. However, I really wanted to introduce you all to a new skincare product I've been using for the past month.

It's called the Age Sciences Personal Microderm Kit. It's basically microdermabrasion you can DIY at home. I's sounds scary, but it's actually really safe and fun!

I filmed a review for this. I find explaining things like skincare is a lot easier to talk about instead of writing about.

You can find more information about this at home microdermabrasion system here.

If you are interested in ordering, you can actually save $30 by enter "IAMGRAPE" at the check out. You can also check out my own personal page HERE. The site is going to be updated with more product reviews in the future!

FTC: I received this kit for consideration. I am NOT getting paid to review nor do I receive commission when people order the product.

Thanks for reading!

Review: Revlon Colorburst Lipsticks (pic heavy)

Hi guys! How are you all doing?

First of all, I'd like to thank everyone that participated in the blog sale! I have all the paid packages wrapped and ready to go out on Monday. I will email you to update once I mailed them out.

Now on to the review.

As many of you might know, I've never been a "lips" girl. I tend to just wear lip balm (even that is a rare occasion). I dislike how most lipsticks (drying) and lipglosses (either too thick or too slippery) feel. However, Revlon Colorburst lipsticks have been impressing me lately.

Name: Revlon Colorburst lipsticks

Packaging: Quite sophisticated. It's quilted and very Chanel-esque. They are very understated yet classic. You can see a swatch of color at the top of the l/s cap. The cap snaps shut and I've never had an incident where it came off in my bag.

Pigmentation: All the colors are VERY pigmented. What you see is what you get.

Wear: They feel very moisturizing on my lips. While they don't last as long as the Revlon Matte l/s (review coming up later), I still get at least a 2 hr wear out of them. I don't mind touching up with these because they feel like a lip balm.

Colors: They offer a wide range of colors. I think some drugstores (my RiteAid and Walmart) only carry limited colors while others, like Walgreens and Target, carry the whole range. They range from concealer nude all the way to the darkest of dark burgundies.

Price: It varies from $7.99 to $9.99 depending on where you buy them. I recommend waiting for a sale at the drugstores.

Soft nude, Blush, Rosy Nude, Soft Rose

Soft Nude is more of a crème peachy nude. While it looks pretty in the swatch, on my lips it’s rather pale and washed me out terribly. In my opinion a neutral lipliner is a MUST when wearing this color.

Blush has more of a mauve undertone to it. It also has some slight shimmer-nothing too flashy. This is a great MLBB color.

Rosy Nude is my favorite out of the bunch. It’s a crème formula so it has no shimmer. Though named rosy nude, this color has NOTHING to do with nude. It’s another MLBB color that has a hint of mauvey brown to it. A little darker than Blush and not quite as bright as Soft Rose.

Soft Rose is my mom’s fave! It’s a crème rosy color. Plain and simple. It’s quite neutral so I predict that both cool and warm skintoned ppl could pull it off. This is quite a face brightener.

Mauve, Raspberry, Fuchsia

Mauve is similar to Soft Rose because they are both that gorgeous girly rose color with crème finish. However, while Soft rose is more neutral, Mauve is definitely more cooler toned. While I could wear Mauve, Soft rose looks a lot better on me. Mauve pulls the sallowness from my skin.

Raspberry is a bright slightly shimmery red. It’s very face brightening and is a more modern take on classic red lips. I got many compliments while wearing this.

Fuchsia is a clear cool toned fuchsia that screams Barbie. It’s very bright and in-your-face. However, with winged liner and pink cheeks, Fuchsia will make you look so sweet and sexy at the same time!

Baby Pink, Peach, Coral

Baby pink is just as the name suggests, a shimmery baby pink. On me I find it looking slightly Mimi-esque. I dislike it b/c it makes me look a lot more yellow and I find that it accentuates any flakes I have.

Peach is a great slightly shimmery light peach color. I find that it’s actually quite similar to my Dior Addict High Shine l/s in Orange Ovation on my lips. Very wearable and user friendly. I strongly suggest it.

Coral is a crème corally red. It’s quite similar to MAC Viva Cindi l/s on my lips. I really like it for that great pop of color.

So all in all, I recommend Blush, Rosy Nude, Soft Rose, Fuchsia, and Peach.

Thanks so much for reading! I hope this was helpful to some of you.

Happy Sunday!

New hair color + random FOTD (pic heavy)

Hi guys! As promised, I will show you how my blue black DIY hair coloring experience turned out.

Many of you probably had already seen my newest YT vids, so you have an idea of what it looks like. However, the difference is MUCH more apparent in pictures.

This is my BEFORE hair. It's SUPPOSED to be dark burgundy, but after a few months it's faded into an orange-y auburn-y mess.

This is my hair right after I washed it. At this point my hair was so blue it scared me sh*tless. Also please excuse my skin. It was that time of the month.

After it had dried: It's super shiny but SUPER dark.

With a little makeup thrown on:

I really like the way it turned out. After some getting used to, I actually really like how the blue tone looks on my hair. Unfortunately the hair color I used (L'oreal Feria in Soft Polished Black from Sally's) fades really easily even though it's supposed to be PERMANENT. The blue tint got washed away after 3 washes. :(

My hair now: I was on my way to have lunch w/ Nathan at his school.

I really like the "No makeup" makeup recently. I think w/ darker hair, I can get away with wearing less makeup.

I have to say that Laura Mercier Creme Smooth Foundation is the BOMB!!! Its coverage is amazing AND it's moisturizing. $50 price tag is a bit hard to swallow, but DAYUM! LOOK AT MY SKIN!!! The blush is MAC Bite of an Apple which came out w/ MAC Venomous Villains. LOVE IT!

I've also be testing out Personal Microderm and it's been rocking my socks. I will do a detailed review on that later.

Speaking of lunch, my favorite sandwich place is called Half Fast. It's right by CU Boulder. The price is right, the food is amazing, and the atmosphere is relaxed. Therefore Nathan and I often go there to get a quick bite.

The inside:

I got a 14 inch Italian sandwich. It's basically a pizza sandwich. AMAZING.

It has Italian sausage, pepperoni, green bell peppers, mozzarella, marinara sauce, all on wheat bread. NOM NOM NOM.

Anyways, I hope you all have a great day. I'm in the process of hosting a HUUUUUUUUUUUGE blog sale. HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE I tell ya. So please stick around for that!
