What's in my travel makeup bag?

Hi everyone! Thanks for stopping by my blog!

Hope you all had a wonderful holiday season! I certainly did!

My mom flew in from Miami and spent a few days with Bryan and I before we started a road-trip to LA. We took the scenic route by the coast and spread the 1,200-mile trip over the course of 4 days. We then spent about 7 days with Bryan’s family and pretty much just relaxed and did absolutely nothing other than stuffing our faces with yums (we went to In-n-Out an embarrassing number of times)… I feel so grateful to be able to spend some much-needed time with my loved ones.

Since I couldn’t pack my entire makeup stash with me for the road trip and to the in-laws (pretty sure they’ll have a heart attack and shun me for being a hoarder), I really had to be selective with what I bring.
BAM! Jam-packed with stuff!
Here are the criteria for the products:
  •    Sleek packaging—For obvious reason, to save space
  •    Longevity—Ain’t nobody got time to retouch throughout the day
  •    Wearability—We are going to see the in-laws (who are more conservative) and I wouldn’t want to look too cray
  •    Yet still allow for creativity—Just in case we are need to go out (As IF!)
  •    Versatile—Since I do my mom’s makeup, the products would need to work well for both of us.

-UD Vitamin-Infused Complexion Prep Spray—Act as a semi-primer and also as a finishing spray. I still love MAC Fix + more, but this is a mini…

-IT Cosmetics Celebration Foundation Illumination in Light—This worked really well! It provided medium coverage and a satin finish. I loved how it looked on my mom and me after a couple hours. Instead of looking powdery, it provides the look of a glow from within. I was gonna take my trusty Physician’s Formula Mineral Talc-Free foundation, but I wasn’t sure if I had enough to last me almost 2 weeks.

-Maybelline Age Rewind concealer in Light—For discoloration that needs more skin-toned coverage, such as areas around my nose and cheeks. It acts for a full coverage foundation in a pinch as well.

-LA Girl Pro-Conceal in Classic Ivory—Color corrector of under my eyes since it’s HEAVILY salmon-toned.

--NYX HD Concealer in Fair—An ultra-light concealer to use on top of LA girl pro concealer to further brighten up my undereye area.

-Sleek Face Form Palette in Light—Contains a matte contour, a shimmery champagne highlight, and a universally flattery goldeny peachy-pink. BAM. Done.

-Lorac Skinny Palette in Plum and Nude—LOOOOOVE! They totally saved the day by being super versatile, blendable, and wearable. I got them for $15 and it was one of the best purchases ever!

-Physician’s Formula gel liner—I think these are discontinued, which sucks a lot because they’re my favorite gel liners ever.

-Jordana 12 HR Made to Wear in Brown/Milani Liquid Eye liner in Black—These two are essentially the same thing. They are very soft, pigmented, and long lasting to wear on the waterline.

-Stila eyeshadow in Espresso—A matte dark brown for my brows.

-Revlon lash glue—My ride and die lash glue. LOVE it way more than Duo.

-Kiss Lashes in #3—LOVE this! It adds some drama for an everyday subtle glam look. Most importantly, its invisi-band makes wearing it soo comfortable. My mom has VERY sensitive eyes and even she can’t feel them.

(forgot to photograph)
-Shiseido Nourishing Mascara base--A must-have for length, volumn, and curl when you don't have/want to use multiple mascaras to achieve the desired look.

-Maybelline Volumn Express The Rocket mascara in Waterproof--My love for Maybelline waterproof mascaras are undying.

NYX Angel Food cake swatched on left, IT Cosmetics Pretty Woman swatched on right
-It Cosmetics Vitality Lip Flush in Pretty Woman—A very wearable warm berry shade. I packed this for my mom as she doesn’t like to retouch her lipstick but likes having some color to brighten up her complexion. Very moisturizing and actually stains!

-NYX Butter Gloss in Angel Food Cake—My go-t0 lip product. Smells edible, feels moisturizing, and looks amazing on! It’s a parent-approved color as well.

I forgot to pack a lip balm… No one told me LA was so dry!! My poor lips were so chapped when I wake up in the morning. L

That’s it for this post! Please stay tuned for my 2014 wrap up and 2015 goals coming up.

Again, thanks for stopping by! Have a happy and safe New Year!!
