Review: Bite Beauty Lush Lip Trio

Hi everyone! Thanks for stopping by my blog! I hope you are all have a great day.

Today I have a review that is quite long overdue given how much I’ve worn these lipglosses in the past month. Ever since I got these little gems as a part of a killer Black Friday deal from Sephora, I haven’t been able to put them down.
Strawberry, Currant, Rambutan
This set was sold for $10 during Black Friday. It contains three mini Lush Fruit Lip Glosses in Rambutan, Currant, and Strawberry. Each comes with a sponge-tip applicator and contains 0.06oz of product, which, if you add them together, is more than a full-sized lipgloss at 0.11oz that retails for $22 each.

I love how Bite Beauty does little travel-sized products to allow us to try out a variety of different products/colors without the high price commitment. I don’t have any full-sized products from Bite Beauty since I have way too many lip products to for me to justify dropping around $25 on ONE lip product. iz cheap

Please keep in mind that these lipglosses do have more of a tackier texture, so you might want to stay away if you’re not a fan of stick lip products. Prior to purchasing this lipgloss set, I’ve also bought the Destructed Rose lipgloss set that came out in summer 2014. I knew I was ok with the texture of the lipglosses and loved how moisturizing the formula was.

Unlike the glosses that came in the Destructed Rose set, the Lush Fruit Lip Glosses are a lot more sheer. Once they go on your lips, they create almost like a cushiony look, filling in any lines you might have on your lips. While each shade has their tint of color, I find my natural lip color still peeking through. Overall, regardless of what shade you put on from this set, you will end up with naturally plump looking lips.

To me, they don’t really have a scent, but I’ve heard some people say that the full sized ones smell fruity, as the color name suggests. Since Bite Beauty is made with all food grade ingredients, they are safe to consume (not that you’d want to, but if you were ever stranded on a deserted island).

Pros:
  • Hydrating formula
  • Wearable colors
  • Scent/Taste free
  • Great bang for your buck (when you purchase Bite sets)
Cons:
  • The texture of gloss is too thick for the sponge tip applicator provided
  • Price for the full size product is high
Now let’s take a look at the colors:

Currant is my favorite from the set. It’s a sheer plum shade that breaths life into your face without overwhelming your entire look. However, if you are looking for something that packs a punch, this might not be the best one.

Strawberry is your classic dollish pink. It offers more pigmentation than the other two shades in the set, but it’s still sheerer than appears in the tube. I personally find it difficult to pull off cool tone pinks since they make my skin look more yellow, but Strawberry is a pink that I think would flatter most skintones.

Rambutan is a great beige-y peachy pinky-nude. It mutes out your natural lip color ever so slightly, but its moisturizing formula and versatility makes it one of the few nudes I could pull off on a daily basis.

In summation, I quite enjoyed the Lush Fruit Lip Glosses and would repurchase the set in a heartbeat. However, I don’t love the shades/formula enough to shell out $22 for a full-sized one any time soon.

Have you tried this product? What do you think of it? I’ve love to hear your thoughts. J

I hope you all enjoy this little review. I will see you guys shortly in a new post!

XOXO,

Tao
